Fitness Motivation!

Do you always find your self wishing you had more time to exercise? Does month after month go by looking at your belly in the shower & thinking you really do have to do something about it? Do you make a plan to fit strength training into your schedule only to find that time gets eaten up by something else? Well here is your inspiration to execcise!

This book has two versions, pink for women & yellow for men, each with their own special spin, both are very popular & both written by the same two guys. I’ve read the women’s version & I thought you would probably enjoy reading it too. If you are thinking what do these guys know about the needs of women, think again. The Younger Next Year for Women book does address some health concerns specific to women but it turns out the means of maintaining & improving health is gender neutral: the same general strategies for good health apply to everyone.

Chris Crowley & Henry S. Lodge M.D. wrote the book. Chris is the chatty amusing chap who makes the book a fun read. Henry brings the science down to earth with solid practical principals & steps to health. Despite being a fun read it’s quite blunt about the consequences of not getting gung-ho with exercise & it’s quite specific about what you need to do to avoid the gradual decline in health that happens unless we do something about it. The two authors alternate writing the chapters, though Chris gives us a few more chapters than Henry, & together they do a great job making the benefits of a fitness program crystal clear. If you desire motivation to move then you will find it here!

This is not an exercise book as such. The authors feel that strength training needs to be taught in person at first rather than from a book but they do recommend it & give guidelines for training with weights & why it’s an essential part of an individual’s healthy future. The same goes for aerobic training with some quite specific pointers about how to achieve progressive levels of fitness.  The methods, for example skiing, biking, jogging  etc, are open to personal preferences. There are also some life hack tips in the book for maximum benefits in life all round.

This book is packed with fitness motivation  & if you keep it handy & dip into it as needed it will surely be an inspiration to make exercise a real priority in your life. The approach of the authors is quite quite direct & forthright in a jolly kind of way. It might be that a few people may find this style rather “in you face” or unrefined. These guys are showing where those with the lack of an exercise program will end up & are cheering you on to embrace exercise with gusto. This book instills the healthy mindset & fitness routine that will enable readers to enjoy all the very real rejuvenating benefits of exercise that can make such a difference to aging with grace.

If you are ready for a jump-start to a progressively healthy lifestyle this book will give you the necessary push.
